Customer Service & Logistics


Customer Service & Logistics (CS&L) is where you’ll integrate our end-to-end demand-driven supply chain. Working “from farm to shelf,” you’ll connect plants with customers to deliver best-in-class service in the most efficient way. Your goal will be to have the right products, at the right time, and with the right quantity and quality on the shelf.


A Modeler is responsible for supporting all mathematical modeling needs for demand for the region from the Integrated planning tower. The role includes statistical modeling for better forecast accuracy.  The following describes key success criteria for a Modeler:


Run periodic segmentation analysis and review results with Category Demand Planning Manager and Regional SCE Business Process Excellence - Demand  to determine SKU prioritization

Develop and run periodic volatility and forecastability analysis and review results with Category Demand Planning Manager and Regional SCE Business Process Excellence - Demand 

Identify the best forecast models based on segmentation and SKU demand behavior; upgrade and refine models based on performance reports and feedback from Category Demand Planners and Market Demand  Managers

Own generation of the baseline demand forecast

Conduct periodic reviews of statistical forecast models with the Category Demand team to adjust the choice of the forecasting models and model parameters.

Supports continuous process improvement by developing analytics, mathematical, statistical and simulation models to resolve/detect escalated performance issues

Determine, create and maintain the best Statistical models to use, by considering SKU demand behavior and segmentation, to generate high quality demand baseline forecast with low forecast error and bias

Identify SKU segmentation and prioritization, by developing and running periodic (as approved by the Regional SCE Business Process Excellence Associate Director - Demand) forecastability (e.g. ‘4 box’) and other segmentation  analysis, to drive determination of appropriate Statistical models

Refine forecasting models, by reviewing forecast performance and incorporating feedback from the Category Demand Planner, to improve forecast error and bias metrics

Supports continuous process improvement by developing analytics, mathematical, statistical and simulation models to resolve/detect escalated performance issues



Qualifications

Bachelor's degree (4 years)


FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL EXPERTISE


1. Functional Work Experience (Demand Planning, Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP), Integrated Business Planning (IBP), Forecasting)

2. Full Operational knowledge of SAP ECC / APO (preferred) or other Advanced Planning Systems through formal training & experience.  Fully versed on Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

3. Ability to evaluate different supply chain scenarios / trade-offs

4.     Full understanding of parameter settings and their implications

5.    Significant Mathematical modeling experience

6.    CPG experience


COMPETENCIES/ABILITIES:

1. Drive for cross-functional results by proactively understanding and managing key issues & success criteria, and prioritizing accordingly

2. Project personal maturity and tact to effectively work with cross-functional team members to deal with conflicting priorities

3.  Knowledgeable of leading practice demand planning concepts

4.  Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills, analytical skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills in English

5. Comprehensive Supply Chain, Economical, Financial, Logistics or Mathematical modeling education or experience 

6. APICS CPIM certified or similar accreditation - preferred. Motivation and capability to acquire accreditation - mandatory
