Job Description
This position is accountable for assisting the brand manager in delivering the volume, share, revenue and profit margin of the brand by being directly responsible for the planning, execution and evaluation of key / specific integrated marketing programs. This position is responsible for implementation of plans within the global brand framework as applicable, and leading projects.
  1. Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities
     
1)           Analyse brand performance on a regular basis and propose action plans to fix issues
           Market performance and trend (U&A, SRI data…)
           Brand performance: Market share, Distribution, Velocity and all related causal data: price, promotion, place, trial, repeat, penetration, frequency…
           Brand equity: brand awareness, brand image tracking, media investment, share of voice…
           New product performance…
           Brand internal performance: Growth Sales Value, margin…
           Competitors tracking:  new products, promotional activities, media….
           Share relevant information with departments (sales, finance, innovation…)
           Share key learning’s and propose action plan to the Brand Manager
 
2)           Manage all promotional activities
           Work together with the sales team to set up, execute and evaluate all in store activities (trade  and consumers promotion) to support the brand sales and new product launches.
           Assist the Brand manager in developing channel strategy (number of skus, number of facings…)
           Prepare for necessary presentation materials/trade negotiation materials
 
3)           Be responsible for new products development from A to Z
           Analyse target consumers segment & identify new opportunities
           Be responsible for flavour strategy, flavour development, packaging development,  in store execution & launch plan, P&L, post analysis
           Work together with consumer insight team to define relevant consumer tests to qualify the new products before launch
           Manage the project with all relevant functions (R&D, consumer insights, supply, sales, finance…)
           Prepare all internal documents to get launch approval
 
4)           Provide inputs for the sales forecast
           Prepare all necessary information to enable accurate sales forecasts on a monthly basis: market trend, brand performance, competitors’ activities….
           Work together with sales team and supply team to get all relevant information
 
5)           Responsible for brand budget
           Monthly marketing expense set up and control
 
6)           Assist the brand manager in developing communications/POA
           Build mid-term plan to develop brand value under the direction of Brand Manager (sampling, digital activities, PR…)
             Communicate with external agencies or other stakeholders


Qualifications
  1. Knowledge including: education, qualifications and training
 
  • 4 year college degree
  • Absolute fluency in Japanese and English

Consumer Understanding
Demonstrates working knowledge of competitive market structure and comparable consumer research learning.  Paints vivid, holistic picture of consumer target and leverages understanding of issues to drive behavior change. E.g. : Understanding of barriers to trials / awareness, brand user/ non-user understanding.
Brand Strategy & Business Opportunity
Assists brand manager in consistently developing brand positioning statements grounded in competitor / market understanding, and to build brand equity.
Activation of Opportunities Networking Skills
Leads (along with Brand manager) the execution of activities that affect brand growths & brand P&L. Creates compelling, focused, inspirational creative briefs. Analyzes creative in context of creative brief and is able to implement integrated marketing campaigns. Is adept at Project Management
