Join our curiosity-driven, cultural-obsessed, and growth-minded Global Strategic Insights team at Mondelēz. The ‘Director - Cultural, Digital, and Design Insights Capability’ role is a key leadership role within our Strategy, Insights and Analytics (SIA) function. Reporting to the Global Head of Strategic Insights, you will manage a talented team of 3 professionals and lead a community of practice globally in digital, design, and ‘insights innovation’. You will also collaborate with Global Head of Strategic Insights as well as Regional Insights leads to define the vision for cultural capability and insights experimentation at Mondelēz.
In this role, you will proactively anticipate needs, opportunities, and risks in 3 critical areas:
  1. Transformative Capabilities: Monitor the external environment dynamics, exploring the impact of social and cultural trends to (a) identify business implications, (b) influence the creation of new growth opportunities, and (c) discover new insights approaches. For the latter, you will also partner with global and regional leaders to develop an Insights Capability roadmap/ecosystem that is accretive and connected. In addition, you will create engaging knowledge-sharing and capability-building platforms, both within the insights community and across the organization.
  2. Disruptive Digital/Social: Lead and inspire a ‘digital-first’ approach to better understand our consumers and shoppers. Also, this role will help create a test-and-learn incubator model for implementation of new digital and analog experiences, including A/B testing and experimentation for marketing activities and operational initiatives.
  3. Breakthrough Design: More than ever, Design is a key lever in generating brand love and winning consumers at the moment of choice. In this role, you will help drive growth by leading the global insights agenda charged with creating disruptive, design-centric innovation across our brands.
Key Accountabilities:
  • Reimagine the next iteration of the Insights function that infuses consumer centricity into every aspect of the business;
  • Cultivate a culture of creativity and experimentation by pioneering and sharing innovative and improved insights approaches; apply innovative thought leadership to ensure that cutting-edge capabilities are fully realized in creating distinctive design, personalized digital experiences, and methodological advances;
  • Manage the professional development of direct team and fully leverage the talent within Mondelēz and across external partners to ensure comprehensive coverage of business needs;
  • Instill a passion for culture global trends and disruptive forces to proactively determine and communicate potential strategic threats and opportunities;
  • Lead partner relationships with key insights, design, and media providers (including FB & Google) as well as industry thought leaders to stay on the cutting edge of the changing data enabled consumer landscape.

  • 10+ years in progressive leadership roles in insights and/or strategic insights consultancy;
  • Experience in consumer packaged goods (CPG), fashion, entertainment, beauty, insights consultancy, advertising planner, and/or media with organizations who are considered best-in-class in digital, design, and insights innovation;
  • 4+ years of demonstrated hands-on expertise in Digital and Social listening;
  • Proficiency in cultural / trend analysis and its application across a breadth of outputs;
  • Keen interest and direct experience in design/packaging principles across multiple disciplines; a passion and natural strength in structural design research; proven in-market success in driving game-changing design solutions;
  • Visual thinker and adept at communicating via creative software platforms, including data visualization/infographics;
  • Proficient in traditional and emerging insights approaches and possesses the ability to drive insights to address business challenges.
You need to have relevant knowledge and be educated to the highest standard:
  • Bachelor’s Degree required, MBA preferred;
  • Knowledgeable of global and regional trends impacting the business;
  • Business experience across developed and emerging markets.

  • Exemplary storytelling skills and business acumen to translate information across multiple sources into clear, concise, and compelling actions.
