ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, ACCOUNTING AND EXTERNAL REPORTING, INDIA


PURPOSE OF THE ROLE / FUNCTIONAL CONTEXT:

The role leads the financial controlling function in India, with direct responsibility for financial accounting (US GAAP and Ind AS), tax accounting and Indirect Taxes, and an oversight of Treasury, Accounts Payable and Direct Tax. The role also requires the individual to perform the fiduciary responsibilities as a member of the board of directors of the legal entity.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

'US GAAP Accounting: Lead the accounting function for the company with support from Genpact. Timely and accurate closure of month end accounting and reporting activities. Timely and accurate preparation and review of balance sheet reconciliations. Provide guidance to the rest of the India finance team on accounting treatment of various activities.

Statutory Accounting: Timely and accurate close of the stat accounts for all the legal entities in India with support from EY.

Indirect Taxes: Ensure that all the compliances related to GST reporting and payments are being adhered to. Also responsible for managing all the indirect tax litigation with support from external consultants.

Tax Accounting: Responsible for timely and accrate submission of tax accounting requirements including ETR forecast, Uncertain Tax Positions (FIN48), Tax reconciliation, advance tax calculation, local tax returns, etc.

Accounts Payable: Oversight of accounts payable activities managed by Accenture. Support resolution of pending/ stuck payments. Review GR/IR and advances on a periodic basis. Support delivery of initiatives on payment on time (POT) and days payables outstanding (DPO).

Treasury: Oversight of treasury activities in India including FX management and foreign currecny payments. Lead and support delivery of cash targets in India.

Direct Taxes: Oversight of direct tax litigation and tax planning in India. Provide support to the tax manager on litigations.

Local Finance Leadership Team (FLT): Be an active member of the local FLT in talent management, mentoring, talent reviews, career planning, etc.

Board Member: Actively participate in quarterly board meetings of the legal entity

Qualifications

CAREER EXPERIENCE 


'Chartered Accountant with 14-17 years of experience in a large scale company. 

Experience in US GAAP and local GAAP accounting. 

Prior experience in at least two other areas (for e.g. sales finance, supply chain finance, category finance or FP&A). 

Prior experience in managing regional stakeholders.
